VAQUITA - CLEAN WATER
Measures water quality without physical sampling
Vaquita Technologies has developed a battery-powered, connected monitoring station that measures several key water quality indicators. It can be installed in lakes, rivers or other natural water bodies but also in industrial facilities such as a wastewater treatment plant. An easy-to-use cloud service collects data over time and detects trends and can alert when limits are exceeded. With more than 6 months of battery life, the user saves a lot of resources on maintenance and allows installation in hard-to-reach places.
Together with Vaquita, Lundinova has taken the idea from prototype to finished product, all on a very reasonable budget. Power consumption has been a challenge and a lot of energy has been spent on keeping it extremely low in idle mode. Thanks to cleverly designed electronics, we have extended the battery life from one to six months, while halving the battery size!
