Electronica Shanghai

Three engineers, a trade show, and lots of new contacts

This year, we sent three of our engineers—Zakaria, Aws, and Olof—to Shanghai to explore the exhibits at Electronica Shanghai, one of the world’s largest trade shows for the electronics industry.

Attending trade shows and seminars is a natural part of our daily lives as engineers. That’s how we stay up to date, find new suppliers, and continue to offer you the best options on the market.

Electronica Shanghai certainly offered great value for the money. This year’s event brought together just over 2,000 exhibitors across 120,000 square meters of exhibition space. This also reflects where the industry stands today. The electronics industry in China has been growing rapidly for quite some time, and the country has now become something of a hub—no longer just for the manufacture of printed circuit boards, but increasingly also for components and design. Over the course of the three days, Zakaria, Aws, and Olof had the opportunity to meet with everyone from component manufacturers we’ve known well for some time to a long list of brands that are barely visible on the European market—yet.

The result of the trip? Three tired but happy engineers back home in Lund, with notebooks filled with notes and a hefty stack of new contacts in their luggage.

This is how we’re working to continue offering you more and better options.
