ELONROAD
SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE
Elonroad is driving the electrification of transport by spearheading the development of electric roads.
Through a conductive rail on the roadway and a pantograph, energy is transferred from the road to the car. However, behind the simple description of Elonroad's concept lies a world of possibilities. The solution would reduce the need for heavy and large batteries, solve range anxiety and be a major step towards climate-smarter transportation.
TECHNOLOGY
The technology in the project is in many ways innovative and Sigma Lundinova has contributed with solutions that in some cases have been completely unique. In the project we have, among other things, worked with:
Road rail at 600V DC
15kW charging system
Modification of existing electric vehicles for prototyping.
CAN bus
Control board for the pantograph
Solutions in both hardware and software.
Sigma Lundinova has been deeply involved in the project from an early stage and has developed solutions for pantographs and road rails as well as in-vehicle charging.
